So its definitely been a few months since Ive posted anything on the blog. Been busy doing school and work, and the holidays....don't even get me started with the holidays!! So right before thanksgiving, I had a friend's birthday that is really into zombies. I borrowed an air brush machine from school and...
Ta-Da!! Zombie cake. I suppose i went a little overboard with the blood spray, but oh well. Zombies are supposed to be covered in blood, and in pieces, and all that stuff, right? Needless to say, he loved it, and even ate the head! (see pictures below, where he took a bite out of it, it looks awesome...or like brains and stuff, depending on if you are grossed out easily.)
Anyway, the holidays came and went, and so did my wonderful paychecks from working about 50 hours a week. At least school was over by the time that happened.
I make cookies every holiday and hand them out to people, since I don't really have money to buy people things. Its cheaper that way, and who doesn't like cookies and truffles?
These guys on the right here....triple chocolate truffles. They take a long time to make, but they are so good. Its almost like a caffienated, chocolatey coma. I make and decorate them all by hand.
After the new year, work has been on the low down, Im lucky to get a few hours here and there. But it was also a nice chance to relax, and even get out and do some stuff other than school work, and regular work. The husband and I had a pretty awesome new years party!! Then another party a couple weekends later. I like having the chance to not worry about anything.
Unfortunately now its time for school again, albeit this is my last semester for Culinary Arts. Ive had a few people ask me to make cakes, which is a good start (one even features Beyonce, check out the images in the slide show- its something I air brushed), and I even have a few weddings lined up later this year. Its pretty exciting.
Heres to hoping my career goes further....
For now, I leave you with white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. This was the most amazing cheesecake Ive ever made. Thank you, all-recipes.com!!!
Stay tuned for our next exciting episode....
Edit: I almost forgot...For my cake decorating class, here was my final "wedding" cake...for all the gamers out there! I had put about 16 hours of work into this cake, and I still didn't finish it. If I had more time, I would have put all of the details on like the logos, the indents, etc. For basic shapes and colors, it didn't come out too bad. Enjoy!
